Lifemark rated homes are designed to be usable and safe for people of all ages and stages. They are easy to live in – for a lifetime. The Lifemark Star Rating shows how well a new home will suit you and your family’s needs over a lifetime.
A new home design is rated against the Lifemark® Standards and awarded points based on how adaptable, safe and usable the home is. The higher the rating (3, 4 or 5 Stars), the more it will suit your family’s needs throughout life as your needs change.
Homes will be assessed focusing on suitability in the following areas:
5-Star Rating
The ultimate award for a home that has virtually all requirements in place to be usable, adaptable and safe.
4-Star Rating
A high percentage of the design features are built in, plus the home can be can be adapted further if required.
3-Star Rating
The home has met mandatory Lifemark Standards for quality design now, with features built-in for easy adaptation in the future.
